Our Core Values

Barker & Scott’s core values are intended to represent who we are as a company, what we do and why we do it.

In 2013, as Barker & Scott continued to grow and evolved to include more talent, co-founders, Doug Barker and Lisa Scott thought it important to articulate the standards that should influence our behavior at the deepest level.

They wrote down the organization’s core values.

Positive Impact

We are committed to making the world a better place through providing value-added services to organizations that are committed to the health and wellbeing of people and all life on earth.

We also support the nonprofit community as a company and as employees with our time, resourcing and reducing our carbon footprint.

Excellence and Lasting Results

We are committed to excellence in all that we do.

We actively seek and incorporate feedback from others as a way to deliver work that meets the highest professional standards and continues to be of value beyond our engagement.

Additionally, we actively work to communicate, reinforce and improve best practices within the nonprofit sector as a whole.

Teamwork and Personal Support

We actively nurture teamwork and support one another both professionally and personally.

We make work fun and encourage one another’s passions and interests inside and outside of work.

And when work must take a back seat to personal circumstances, we do our best to fill in for one another so that each of us, our families and our clients, can be whole.

Diversity

We embrace and celebrate diversity in all its forms.

We value differences among individuals across multiple dimensions.

We believe that the more we include diverse perspectives and experiences in our work, the better able we are to achieve our professional goals, individually and collectively.

We believe in aligning our individual goals with the good of the whole.

We actively embrace models of shared acknowledgment, career advancement, professional development and prosperity.
